Stupid question. Are slot-head and classical tuners interchangible-holes, placing, size?

Bob, do you mean steel string slot-head tuners and classical tuners?

If that's what you meant, they are not the same. The classical tuners have a much larger post to wrap the nylon string around.   It is not suitable for steel strings.

Hope this helps.

Having said that, most classical tuners and slot head steel string tuners have the same distance between holes on center so with a single jig, with a drill bushing, you can drill/route for both type guitars.

See Stew-Mac and LMII for details.
